The date 15 April 2013 marked another significant milestone for Smart Reader^®Worldwide with the launching of Wisma Smart Reader^® I & II. The launching was held in an auspicious ceremony graced by the DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni’ Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, the Raja Muda of Perlis and DYTM Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis.In 1987, Dr Richard Ong and Dato’ Dr K H Wang set up the Strawberry Hill^® Child Development Centre. The name was later changed to Smart Reader^® Worldwide in 1999, and since then, the company has expanded to more than 300 Smart Reader Kids^® franchise centres throughout Malaysia and 150 centres on foreign shores.

Moreover, Smart Reader^® Worldwide has been conferred close to 100 local and international awards, namely in Lima, Peru; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Barcelona, Spain; Rome, Italy; Abu Dhabi, UAE; Frankfurt, Germany; Paris, France; Hanoi, Vietnam; London, UK; Bangkok, Thailand; New York, USA; Geneva, Switzerland; Makati City, Manila, Philippines; and Singapore.

SRI College^®, the tertiary arm of Smart Reader^® Worldwide, was also established. Through the partnership with University of Hertfordshire, SRI College^® aims to provide excellence in Early Childhood Education. The 3+0 BA(Hons) Education Studies and Early Years programme introduces students to major themes of education with specific focus on Early Years and encourages them to review the nature and impact of current initiatives in education against a background of understanding education as an academic discipline.
