SMART READER KIDS® FAN CLUB TALENT TIME COMPETITION & TOYOTA TRAFFIC TOTS GAME SHOW
Leading early childhood provider, Smart Reader® Worldwide has always believed in the positive correlation between fun and learning primarily because when fun is infused into the learning process, children will look forward to school and the activities associated with it.
In an effort to further enhance the children’s learning process, Smart Reader® Worldwide organised the Smart Reader Kids® Fan Club Talent Time Competition & Toyota Traffic Tots Game Show on 5 and 6 September 2013 at Wisma Smart Reader® I.
Among those who attended the event were Kevan Ong, Corporate Manager of Smart Reader® Worldwide and Mohd Zunaidi Mohd Dali, Executive CSR of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd.
Also present were the management of Smart Reader® Worldwide, principals, educators, parents and students of Smart Reader Kids® as well as members of the Smart Reader Kids® Fan Club. Smart and Jack, the much loved mascots of Smart Reader Worldwide® entertained and interacted with the guests.
The Smart Reader Kids® Fan Club Talent Time Competition, a first of its kind for Smart Reader®Worldwide and Smart Reader Kids® Fan Club, saw 10 finalists from Smart Reader Kids®Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, Smart Reader Kids® Taman Bidara, Selayang Batu Caves, Selangor, Smart Reader Kids® Taman Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, Smart Reader Kids® Batu Tiga Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Smart Reader Kids® Putra Point, Bandar Baru Nilai and Smart Reader Kids® Dataran Dwitasik, Kuala Lumpur vying for the coveted champion title.
Their performances incorporated the “Magnificent Malaysia” theme, a theme that was selected to commemorate the recently held Independence Day celebration as well as to encourage finalists to express their love and patriotism for the country.
The first place went to Smart Reader Kids® Putra Point, Bandar Baru Nilai comprising Yahkeish A/L Puvaneswaran, Nur Asyiqah Hani Bt. Mohd Hazlim, Nur Amani Damia Bt. Azri, Nur Aisyah Al. Humaira Bt. Md. Shahrifudin and Abdul Qaadir B. Amuniddin. Opening with an energetic cheerleading routine, they burst on to the stage to the current hits of Justin Bieber and One Direction. The amount of energy and life coupled with their astounding dance medley left the crowd breath taken and uplifted. Their performance ended with triumphant shouts of Merdeka and they took home RM700 in cash, a hamper and a trophy.
Second place went to Smart Reader Kids® Batu Tiga Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur. They performed an explosive group dance to the upbeat ‘Rasa Sayang 2.0’ song. The crowd broke into applause when the dancers performed breakdance moves. The group comprising Muhammad Sean Bakri, Nurliayana Amni, Nur Dania Qistina, Veshaal A/L Mathialaga and Nichole Yu Lee Jia Qi took home RM500 in cash, a hamper and a trophy.
Smart Reader Kids® Dataran Dwitasik, Kuala Lumpur took the third place. They performed a group sketch entitled “I love Malaysia” that revolved around the history of Malaya. The performers were Zireen Ngee, Muhammad Jaris Thaqif Bin Helmi, Soo Jun Hui, Serina Wong Bt Muhammad Syafiq Wong, Vishal Indran and Nur Laila Batrisha and they took home RM300 in cash, a hamper and a trophy. Consolation prizes were given to the others.
Former students of Smart Reader Kids® centres, Adib Fahmi Halim performed a breathtaking breakdance number while Karlyssa Lana Bt Faizal performed a wonderful gymnastics routine.
Students of Smart Reader Kids® were also given the opportunity to play interactive games at the Toyota Traffic Tots Game Show to raise their awareness and understanding of road safety issues. They were exposed to day-to-day situations and learned the many ways of road safety. Apart from solving puzzles and matching pictures to words, they answered quizzes and were given gifts.
The Toyota Traffic Tots programme is a road safety programme aimed at preschool children duly supported by the Road Safety Department. For the year 2013, Smart Reader® Worldwide together with programme partner UMW Toyota is extending this programme to Smart Reader Kids® centres nationwide.
All participants received goodie bags that consist of Smart mineral water, OKBB baby wipes, Vico chocolate malt drinks, Healthy Pantry muffins and UMW Toyota pencil cases.
The talentime brought out the best in the children
