The nation’s leading early childhood education provider, Smart Reader® Worldwide, recently participated in Franchise International Malaysia 2013.During the three-day event, Smart Reader® Worldwide booths attracted numerous potential franchisees from Malaysia and overseas. They were keen to explore the Reader Kids®, Smart Reader Kids++®, Smart Reader Kids® Mandarin Medium and Smart Reader Kids Islamic™ franchise opportunities.

Head of Business and Development Department of Smart Reader® Worldwide, Jeraj A/L Pitchamuthu, spoke about the multi-award winning programmes during the Smart Reader®Worldwide products and services workshop. The workshop included a briefing on the Smart Tadris™ programme under the newly launched Smart Reader Kids Islamic™ concept.

The Smart Tadris™ curriculum is specifically targeted for Muslim children as young as three years old. Designed and developed by prominent experts from Masjid Negara namely, Ustaz Mahadi Bin Dahlan, Ustaz Mohd Zuhairee Mohd Yatim and Ustaz Muhamad Faisol Bin Munjir, the curriculum meets the standards set by religious authorities.

The Royal Patron of Smart Reader Kids Islamic™, Raja Muda Perlis, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail while Tuan Haji Zakariah Bin Isa, Imam Besar of Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan serves as the Honorary Advisor for the programme.

Comprising Islamic subjects such as as Iqra’, Quran, Ibadah, Akidah, Akhlak, Jawi and Arabic, the curriculum also includes Smart Reader® subjects such as Smart Reader™ English, Smart Maths™, Smart Bacaan™ and Smart Science. Apart from enhancing the children’s ability to understand the fundamentals of Islam, the curriculum also teaches children to manifest the religion through their speech, behavior and daily routines.

“We noticed there is a great demand among the Muslim community for a comprehensive Islamic preschool curriculum, particularly a curriculum that provides children the necessary competencies to steer the nation forward. Therefore, we together with the support from Masjid Negara took the initiative to develop the Smart Tadris™ programme. Our programme stands out due to its holistic approach as well as the creative and fun elements incorporated in the teaching and learning process,” said Edzri Effendi Bin Zainal, the Corporate Assistant Manager of Smart Reader®Worldwide, adding that he is confident that the programme will meet the needs and expectation of Muslim parents. He along with Ustaz Mohd Zuhairee and Ustaz Muhamad Faisol conducted the briefing.

On the same day, the children of Smart Reader Kids® KLIA Kuarters, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan staged a remarkable performance in front of the Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Y.B. DatoHasan Bin Malek .

They sang English and Arabic songs from the Smart Tadris™ CD namely, “Sobahan Nur”, “We are Smart Tadris™ Kids” and “Rukun Iman” with full confidence. Guests were thrilled and thoroughly enjoyed their performance.

The following day, Smart Reader® Worldwide hosted the ‘Hari Malaysia Colouring Competition’ at Kuala Lumpur Hall. Close to 500 children aged between three to six years old took part in this competition and competed in two categories; Category A for children age three to four and Category B for children age five to six. Ten winners were selected for each category.

For Category A, first place went to Naziha Shameen from Smart Reader Kids® Taman Mutiara, second place went to Selliyan Rao A/L Thiru Maran from Smart Reader Kids® TTDI and third place went to Sean Ean Rylee from Smart Reader Kids® SS19, Subang Jaya.

Category B saw Mukhriz Alfie Shah B Muzaffar Shah from Smart Reader Kids® Ampang Point taking the first place. Second place went to Safiyyah Bt Shah Jahan from Smart Reader Kids®Taman Maluri while third place went to Nazreen Sofea from Smart Reader Kids® Taman Permata.

All winners received a trophy, hamper and pet pillows from Smart Reader® Worldwide as well as souvenir bags from Malaysian Franchise Association. Consolation prizes were given to the others.

There was also a special category for the children from Persatuan Sindrom Down Malaysia. They were each given goodie bags from Smart Reader® Worldwide and souvenir bags from Malaysian Franchise Association.

Corporate Manager of Smart Reader® Worldwide, Kevan Ong and Secretary General of Malaysian Franchise Association, Mohamad Shukri Salleh, gave away the prizes.

While the older children were kept occupied with learning the art of origami, face masks and cards from the staff of Smart Reader® Worldwide and the students of SRI® College, parents and other guests were kept entertained with riveting performances by all three winners of the recently held Smart Reader Kids® Fan Club Talent Time Competition.

The children of Smart Reader Kids® Dataran Dwitasik, Kuala Lumpur began with their group sketch performance entitled “I love Malaysia” followed by the children of Smart Reader Kids®Batu Tiga Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur with their explosive group dance to the upbeat ‘Rasa Sayang 2.0’ song. The children of Smart Reader Kids® Putra Point, Bandar Baru Nilai concluded with their energetic dance medley. They performed to the current hits of Justin Bieber and One Direction.

All participants received goodie bags courtesy of Smart Reader® Worldwide consisting Smart mineral water, Smart Reader Kids® CD and lunch box as well as Malaysian Franchise Association merchandise.
