22nd July 2019 was an exciting day for Smart Reader Kids Islamic® preschool children participating in Smart Hajj 2019, a Hajj simulation with the objective of Hajj practical such as tawaf, wukuf, saie, jamrah, tahallul, and ihram as well as telekung. It also serves as a process of discovering religious education in a fun and innovative way.
It is a must for these preschool children to face eight different checkpoints which are immigration, wukuf in Arafah, mabit in Muzdalifah, jamrah, tawaf, saie, tahallul, and Qurban simulation (slaughtering).
Held in Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, (MSSAAS) Shah Alam, the Smart Hajj 2019 gathered 400 preschool children around Klang Valley. According to Pn. Mustakimah Mat Dros, manager of Smart Hajj 2019, “Alhamdulillah (thank God), we have received a positive support from parents whose children participated in Smart Hajj 2019 even though this is our first Hajj simulation.” In addition, the event was enlightened with the presence of Azman Syah bin Alias also known as PU Azman together with Ustaz Abdul Karim Omar bin Maaseng, Officer of Islamic Affairs (MSSAAS). Recently, PU Azman was appointed as the new ambassador of the Smart Reader Kids Islamic programme in its efforts to create more awareness on the importance of Islamic education from a young age.
Tawaf Perdana was the climax of the event where our little Haji, Hajah, teachers, and staff led by PU Azman and Ustaz Abdul Karim Omar moved around the Kaabah replica to simulate the actual process. The significance of this movement is the presentation of the idea of oneness. We as human beings were taught to be united and to help one another.
“I hope this will help in building a Smart Muslim generation, realising the vision of the Smart Reader Kids Islamic® programme,” said PU Azman.
Every participant also received attractive goodie bags, thanks to our sponsor Wet World Water Park, Shah Alam.
The Smart Reader Kids Islamic® programme was launched in 2014 to equip preschool students with the concept of love and understanding of the six pillars of faith in Islam and is taught through the Smart Reader Creative Teaching MethodologyTM which encompasses elements of creativity and imagination.
The programme is developed by experienced Al-Quran and Sunnah experts from the National Mosque and Department of Islamic Development Malaysia in accordance with the National Education Philosophy, National Preschool Standard Curriculum, National Primary School Standard Curriculum, and Jawi, Al-Quran, Arab, Fardu Ain.
