Smart Reader® Worldwide recently kicked off Cyclelah with DYTM Raja Muda & DYTM Raja Puan Muda Perlis, a family cycle and walk event held on 20th October 2019 in conjunction with Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning. The main objective of the event was to raise funds for the National One Child One Hope Education Scholarship Programme, an initiative by Smart Reader® Worldwide with the aim of ensuring accessibility to quality early childhood education through the provision of scholarships to underprivileged children.
The opening ceremony of the Cyclelah with DYTM Raja Muda & DYTM Raja Puan Muda Perlis was officiated by Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, Raja Muda Perlis and Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah, Raja Puan Muda Perlis. The main event was split into two main routes, a 5km cycling route, led by DYTM Raja Muda Perlis and a 3km walk, led by DYTM Raja Puan Muda Perlis in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
The not-for-profit event was a resounding success, attracting a thousand participants, ranging from children as young as four years old, to parents and even grandparents. Notwithstanding its charitable aims, the event managed to create a spirit of togetherness, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle within families.
Dato’ Sri Dr. Richard Ong, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Reader® Worldwide said, “We are always looking at ways we can contribute to the development of the early childhood education industry in Malaysia. It is important to recognise that high quality education early in life gives children the best start. Through the One Child One Hope initiative, we continue to strive towards ensuring the provision of accessible quality education for all children. At the same time, Cyclelah with DYTM Raja Muda & DYTM Raja Puan Muda Perlis represents a perfect opportunity for parents and children alike to spend some time together, fostering family values that will strengthen the fabric of society”.
With Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah as the Royal Patron of One Child One Hope programme continues its endeavours to ensure every child, regardless of race, creed or social status, to achieve their full potential in life. The initiative has enabled more than 500 less fortunate children to experience quality early childhood education.
Apart from that, Smart Reader® Worldwide has also initiated the Hope Channel that fulfils the wishes of needy individuals to make their lives more meaningful. The activities are filmed and published on YouTube. Having pioneered the Smart Reader Kids® range of programmes, Smart Reader® Worldwide is carving a name for itself as not only the leading provider of early childhood education, but also as an organisation that aims to better the social welfare of the nation, particularly with regards to children.
