CELEBRATING INSPIRATIONAL BOOK SERIES YOUNG ACCOMPLISHED WRITERS


Kuching: International award-winner and leading early childhood education provider, Smart Reader® Worldwide Sdn Bhd celebrates the winners of the Smart Reader Kids® Inspirational Book Series competition here at Vivacity Megamall, Kuching.

The event was organised by Smart Reader Worldwide in conjunction with the 2nd Home & Property Roadshow 2019, organised by Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developer’s Association (SHEDA). The event was graced by YB Dato’ Sri Hajjah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Sarawak. 

Speaking at the event, Fatimah praised the initiative made by Smart Reader® Worldwide which provides an avenue for children to uncover their passion in reading and writing.

“I’ve been invited twice to grace this event and I am thrilled to know that the winners are consistently from Sarawak. We hope their stories will inspire more fellow Smart Reader Kids® students to uncover their passion in reading and writing; becoming talented young authors in their own respect,” she said. 

Present were Keefe Ong, Executive Director of Smart Reader® Worldwide, Norma John, Manager of Operations and Business Development East Malaysia and Sim Kiang Chiok, Chairman of SHEDA Kuching Branch.

The two winning stories were 5 Lovely Friends by Jayvien Spir, aged five-year old and The Proud Flamingo by the six-year old, Safa Dayani. Both children were given the opportunity to read out their stories to the public. The winners took home RM1,000 cash prize, a trophy, certificate and token of appreciation.

Keefe said this initiative was to encourage every child in Smart Reader Kids® to read and write and express themselves in creative manner, as these 2 young accomplished writers will have their books published. 

Smart Reader® Worldwide also introduce several new Smart Reader Kids® programmes for 2020 namely the Smart STE(A)M programme (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics), Smart Fun Play: Mindfulness programme and I Enjoy Play-learning (IEP) programme.
